Anti-Haiku
Desert for miles and miles
yet it manages to bring on smiles
of many who come that better know
of this place not so long ago.
It offers a lot, but takes so much
what you really need is a light touch.
Large men have crumbled, small men have grown
we all could have been equal, not less known.
The city lights that shine so bright
make it hard to distinguish between day and night.
Where glitz and glamour walk hand in hand
and then disparity lurks at the other end.
Showbiz stars and girls so fine
unbridled excess which is not mine.
A city of dreams, a fantasyland
Can I make another grand?
Down the streets the wind it blows
how many thounsands come no one knows.
They all flock in; some decide to stay
eventually some of them loose their way.
The world of leisure and dazzling displays
some fit in, some fall out of place.
From marble steps to corn-blonde gals
there`s another world inside the flood canals.
The city of hope, the city of dreams
once dubbed Sin City, has all the extremes;
it shines so bright in an empty place
we can see the Strip from outer space.
